This resource is designed to help pupils to develop their understanding of the contributions made by black and Asian soldiers / army personnel of the Commonwealth during World War 2. It includes a PPT which includes background information about WW2 and the Commonwealth, nine biographies of black and and Asian soliders, plus details of two follow-up activities. Also, incorporated is a fascinating video produced in 1943 by  the Ministry of Information which was designed to show what life was like for Caribbean people who had travelled to the UK to join the armed forces.  The resource also contains comprehension worksheets to accompany each biography, differentiated  biography writing frames which enable the students to write their own biographies and other worksheets to support the two-follow-up activities.
