Description
These assessments are great for checking understanding of year group objectives and familiarising pupils with test style questions. They check understanding of:
- Building cohesion and linking ideas
- Converting nouns or adjectives into verbs using suffixes [for example,–ate; –ise; –ify]
- Indicating degrees of possibility using adverbs
- Use of commas to clarify meaning or avoid ambiguity
- Indicating degrees of possibility using modal verbs
- Brackets, dashes or commas to indicate parenthesis
- Relative clauses beginning with who, which, where, when, whose, that
- Verb prefixes [for example, dis–, de–, mis–, over– and re–]
