Description
These assessments are great for checking understanding of year group objectives and familiarising pupils with test style questions. They check understanding of:
- Expressing time, place and cause using conjunctions [for example, when, before, after, while, so, because],
- Expressing time, place and cause using adverbs [for example, then,next, soon, therefore]
- Expressing time, place and cause using prepositions [for example, before, after, during, in, because of]
- Formation of nouns using a range of prefixes [for example super–,anti–, auto–]
- Inverted commas to punctuate direct speech
- Use of the present perfect form of verbs instead of the simple past
- Use of the forms a or an
- Word families showing how words are related in form and meaning
- Recognising and understanding subordinate clauses
