Description
This year 2 sentence writing pack contains three PPT lessons which support teaching of the statutory year 2 sentence objectives. These objectives require that pupils are introduced to the following:
- Subordination (using when, if, that, because) and co-ordination (using or, and, but)
- Expanded noun phrases for description and specification [for example, the blue butterfly, plain flour, the man in the moon]
- How the grammatical patterns in a sentence indicate its function as a statement, question, exclamation or command
Each PPT contains explanation, examples and exercises as well as opportunities for discussion. In addition, a short assessment test containing five test style questions designed to check understanding is included with an accompanying answer sheet.
